This is a fixed-term appointment created to develop curriculum and substantially contribute to the launch of at least one of two flagship graduate programs: the Master of Health Administration (MHA) and/or the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Entrepreneurship and Community Resilience. The role suits a seasoned academic leader who moves quickly from design to delivery and who enjoys building things that last. It offers the chance to help shape these programs from the ground up at a university that values innovation, collaboration, and inclusive growth.

This is a nine-month visiting appointment (renewable for up to three academic years and convertible to a permanent tenured/tenure-track position) on Tarleton's main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Summer appointment depends on need and funding. Work hours: Mon-Fri, 8 AM to 5 PM, or as work and teaching requirements indicate. May be assigned to teach at various campus locations or through approved instructional modalities, as determined by institutional needs. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

The successful candidate will take a substantial role in designing and launching the *MHA and/or DBA programs while demonstrating excellence in teaching, maintaining an active research agenda, mentoring graduate students, and supporting the operations of the College. Both programs are being built at once, so the work calls for someone comfortable holding two related but distinct mandates: a practice-oriented master's in health administration and an applied doctoral program serving working professionals.

*The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) and the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Entrepreneurship and Community Resilience is under submission and awaiting TAMUS, THECB, and SACSCOC approval. Responsibilities associated with the proposed MHA and DBA programs are contingent upon receipt of all required approvals from TAMUS, THECB, and SACSCOC.

  • Create and lead continuous improvement committees with faculty from the Dr. Sam Pack College of Business and the College of Health and Clinical Professions.

  • Build a regional partner network across rural health systems, economic development corporations, and community banks that adds value to program quality and institutional visibility.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory offerings to undergraduate and graduate students, which may include general education core curriculum.

  • Develop syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, and papers.

  • Assess performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes to improve teaching and curriculum.

  • Engage students in active learning and foster critical thinking through discussion, collaboration, and hands-on work.

  • Provide academic support through office hours, feedback, and mentoring.

  • Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements.

  • Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning and engagement.

  • Prior experience launching, substantially redesigning, or directing graduate or doctoral business programs through inaugural cohort launch.

  • Demonstrated expertise in AACSB and SACSCOC accreditation, faculty sufficiency analysis, Assurance of Learning, and continuous improvement reporting.

  • Experience chairing dissertation or thesis committees and supervising graduate students in applied doctoral or graduate projects.

  • Experience establishing and chairing industry advisory boards and translating stakeholder input into curriculum and program review.

  • Demonstrated success building academic and industry partnerships that generate scholarships, internships, applied projects, and community engagement.
