SUMMARY
The Yacht Club Member and Experience Director will provide complete oversight of the Yacht Club and the responsibilities within the club including but not limited to: Member onboarding, Member communications, Member event Programming, Member reservation logistics, Yacht Club Marketing, Club app and member platform, New Member acquisitions, adherence to rules and regulations, contract management, Member Service standards and Club-wide Housekeeping.
The Yacht Club Member and Experience Director has strong communications skills and establishes strong relationships between yacht club members and colleagues. This role works closely with the Resort Manager as well as other Managers and Directors within the resort, residences and yacht club teams as well as various Montage International Corporate leaders. This position supports in all marketing, communications and public relations for the Yacht Club. Assisting in planning, implementing, overseeing and coordinating events for members. Working directly with Departments and Communications on all internal and external marketing to ensure that services for Members are developed, produced and marketed with the focus on increasing Member satisfaction and attracting the next generation of Members. This role leads the development of the Membership program, forecasting marketing and promotional programs.
POSITION TASKS
Membership Services
- Oversee day to day operations of the yacht club
- Responsible for the full membership lifecycle; from prospect identification and cultivation through onboarding, engagement, retention, and advocacy
- Provide complete oversight of the yacht club and the responsibilities within the club including, but not limited to, member communications, member event programming, member reservation logistics, contract management, member service standards, and club-wide housekeeping
- Support membership sales, onboard new members, deliver personalized service to existing members, manage administrative processes, and ensure the club maintains an exclusive, yet welcoming atmosphere, consistent with luxury standards
- Responsible for hiring, training, and managing assigned associates for the highest level of service
- Maintain regular communication with the people department regarding recruitment, staffing and performance reviews
- Develop and execute strategic membership recruitment and sales plans aligned with berth capacity and revenue targets.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting (referrals, networking, digital leads, international yachting networks, etc.), personalized tours of the marina, yacht club and resort amenities, presentations, follow-up, and application processing
- Cultivate relationships with international yacht brokers, captains, owners’ associations, reciprocal clubs, and high-net-worth networks and individuals
- Collaborate with management on prospect screening and approval processes
- Serve as the primary point of contact and ambassador for members regarding status, benefits, berthing, amenities, and special requests
- Lead new-member onboarding and orientation programs
- Conduct regular member satisfaction feedback, “check-in” conversations, and proactive service recovery
- Oversee the budgets for the yacht club to ensure costs are maintained to budgetary guidelines
- Maintain accurate membership records, berthing assignments, waitlists, billing data, insurance documentation, and member profiles
- Ensure compliance with club bylaws, membership categories, rules, maritime, and immigration requirements where relevant
- Prepare regular reports on membership statistics, trends, occupancy, revenue, attrition, and forecasts for ownership
- Responsible for any people related matters including coaching and counseling
- Support Membership Committee meetings and related governance activities
Marketing and Communications
- Manage the membership app and day to day responsibilities including daily, weekly and monthly updates and communication to members through the app
- Identify opportunities with app performance and work with app developer on ongoing enhancements in an effort to continuously improve member experience
- Design and support member engagement initiatives, social events, regattas, networking opportunities, and lifestyle programming in coordination with other departments
- Lead marketing, and communications teams on membership collateral, digital content, newsletters, social media, and targeted campaigns that reflect the club’s luxury positioning
- Contribute to the overall luxury service culture and brand standards of the property
- Perform other duties as required

Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in membership sales/management, private club, luxury hotel, marina, or high-end hospitality environments. Experience in yacht clubs, private marinas, or luxury residential resort communities is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding membership sales and retention targets in a relationship-driven, high-net-worth setting.
- Strong understanding of membership models, private club operations, and the yachting lifestyle.
- Experience working with international clientele and high-net-worth individuals.
- Proficiency with membership databases, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; polished presentation ability.
Preferred Attributes. - Knowledge of Caribbean or international yachting/marina operations.
- Experience with reciprocal club networks and luxury brand standards (Forbes, AAA Five Diamond, or equivalent).
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working evenings/weekends as required by member events and peak seasons.
