Revantage has set up its global capability center in Bengaluru (GCC). ROLE SUMMARY
As part of the APAC Legal & Compliance team, the Legal Counsel will work closely with colleagues in Gurugram, Singapore and Sydney to support Blackstone’s APAC real estate business across a broad range of corporate, commercial and compliance matters. The role will help strengthen capacity and capabilities within the India Global Capability Center (GCC), supporting long-term quality, scalability and stability across Revantage’s global legal operations.
Primary Role
- Legal Reviews:
- Review and negotiate engagement letters, service agreements, works and consultancy contracts, NDAs, general commercial contracts etc., including coordinating input from and summarizing key legal issues to internal stakeholders.
- Review corporate secretarial and funding documents of investment structures, including consideration of wider non-legal implications of the corporate actions based on review guide.
- Assist with the coordination of Singapore investment committee meetings and board meetings relating to Blackstone real estate transactions, including liaising with external counsel and finalizing minutes.
- Coordinate declarations by Blackstone sponsor / promoter group in REITs or IPOs.
- Track, monitor and safekeep commercial contracts and template legal documents.
- Compliance:
- Arrange compliance declarations for Revantage APAC employees.
- Monitor Blackstone transactions involving material non-public information (MNPI), administer compliance controls for Revantage APAC, including maintaining tracker for MNPI insiders and segregating access rights to MNPI.
- Legal Operations:
- Maintain tracker and/or provide regular input on the key matrixes for reporting to Blackstone.
- Assist in assessing work procedures, providing feedback/suggestions for improvements and implementing improvement process, where necessary.
- Create and/or update standard operating procedures (SOP).
- As needed, support Revantage APAC on special projects and other legal operations matters.
- Undertake and contribute to the transition and quality service delivery of further scope migration from the Singapore and/or Sydney legal team to the GCC team.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor of Law degree from a reputable university (Second Upper Class honours and above).
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in the legal field, with a minimum of 2 years gained in a law firm or private practice.
- Able to draft, review and negotiate contracts independently.
- Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and ethical mindset.
- Able to act autonomously when appropriate and know when to escalate matters.
- Able to engage confidently and effectively with stakeholders across seniorities, expertise and cultures.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Well organized, able to prioritize tasks and meet tight timelines.
- Motivated and driven to take responsibility for new projects and see them through to completion.
