We are looking for a Part-Time Paramedic/EMS Provider! Join our Fire and Rescue team and make a difference in your community. We're seeking dedicated, compassionate professionals to provide Advanced and Basic Life Support (ALS/BLS) emergency medical care in a fast-paced environment. As a Part-Time Paramedic/EMS Provider, you will:
  • Report to duty on time and prepared to begin each shift.
  • Respond to emergency incidents and provide high-quality emergency medical care to the sick and injured.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain rescue apparatus, medical equipment, and related tools.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of assigned fire stations and surrounding grounds.
  • Safely drive and operate emergency medical response vehicles.
  • Complete patient care reports and other required documentation in accordance with Department SOPs.
  • Participate in required training, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with department personnel, volunteer fire and rescue members, partner agencies, and the public.
  • Read, interpret, and apply department policies, procedures, and other technical materials.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have held it for at least 2 years.
  • Must possess NIMS ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-700, IS-800, and CPR certifications.
  • Must possess Virginia Department of Fire Programs EVOC Class I and II certifications.
  • Must possess a Virginia Office EMS Paramedic or Intermediate certification or a National Registry of EMT’s Paramedic Certification.
  • Must have AHA ACLS and PALS certifications that are current.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Physical Demands: Requires the ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, crawling, running, and working on uneven or slippery surfaces. Must be able to work in varying lighting conditions and perform effectively in high-stress emergency environments.

Environmental Conditions: This position requires working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat, cold, and other adverse conditions. During emergency responses, employees may be exposed to smoke, infectious diseases, biological hazards, hazardous materials, and other potentially dangerous environments.
