Description
Assist the Representative and the district office staff with administrative tasks and constituent casework.
This position is 100% onsite and not Telework eligible.
- Monitor and respond to constituent inquiries through a variety of mediums, including in-person visits, telephone, and email. Assess how assistance can be provided and redirect inquiries to the appropriate government agencies/liaisons.
- Document constituent casework in the Indigov system accurately to ensure co-workers can view the correct information. This includes processing PennDOT, property tax/rent rebates, PACE, and other related forms.
- Order, receive, and maintain office supplies and legislative literature.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
- Assist in preparation of certificates, proclamations, and citations.
- If needed, manage the schedule for the office including the Member’s meetings in the district.
- Attend and assist with organizing events on behalf of or hosted by the Representative. This may include the occasional evening and/or weekend event.
- Perform any other legislative work-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLSAbility to complete tasks in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to learn the constituent tracking system software (Indigov).
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, interpret, and compose general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from superiors, constituents, and the general public. Ability to effectively communicate with the public. Ability to converse fluently in a secondary language is a plus.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to exercise professional judgement and demonstrate customer service. Ability to get along with others and work effectively alone and as a team player.
