Position Summary

This role supports AQI, a software and analytics business operating in a recurring-revenue environment, with finance responsibilities tied to SaaS performance, subscription revenue, customer retention, gross margin, cloud hosting costs, implementation activity, and scalable operating processes.

The Financial Analyst II supports financial planning, reporting, forecasting, compliance, and business decision-making across the organization. This role partners with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Commercial, and Operations to deliver accurate reporting, clear insights, and disciplined financial analysis while improving data quality, reporting efficiency, and scalable finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis

Participate in monthly close, forecast, business review, and operating review processes by preparing accurate analysis, explaining variances, tracking action items, and supporting timely follow-up with business partners.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, including financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods to identify key business drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting to support leadership decision-making.

Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting

Support planning processes that improve forecast discipline, financial predictability, and business visibility.

  • Support annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning activities in partnership with business leaders.
  • Prepare financial models, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate business performance, investments, pricing decisions, cost structures, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and provide recommendations to improve planning discipline and financial predictability.
  • Translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Business Partnership and Commercial Support

Provide commercial finance support that connects revenue performance, customer economics, and operating trends to business decisions.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and other departments to provide financial analysis and decision support.
  • Monitor revenue trends, bookings including recurring revenue (ARR), churn, retention, customer expansion, pricing, discounting, margins, cloud hosting costs, customer profitability, and operating expenses to support profitable growth.

Systems, Automation, and Data Analytics

Improve finance processes and reporting through the disciplined use of systems, automation, data quality practices, and continuous improvement principles, while applying Veralto Enterprise System methodologies to identify root causes, standardize recurring work, enhance process quality, and leverage metrics to drive informed decision-making, accountability, and execution.

  • Support daily management practices by maintaining relevant finance metrics, identifying exceptions, tracking follow-ups, and helping ensure recurring finance processes are visible, accountable, and completed on time.
  • Leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline recurring reports, data validation, reconciliations, forecast updates, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain financial data integrity by identifying anomalies, improving data quality, and supporting process improvements.
  • Develop and enhance reporting templates, dashboards, and analytical models to improve productivity.

Accounting, Tax, Compliance, and Controls Support

Support audit requests, financial compliance activities and internal control documentation.

  • Assist with tax and compliance requirements.
  • Identify reporting discrepancies, control gaps, and process risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure financial analysis and reporting are completed in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should bring the technical foundation, judgment, and working style needed to support accurate reporting, effective business partnership, and continuous improvement.

Demonstrate strong ethical judgment, protect confidential financial and business information, follow company policies and approval requirements, and escalate concerns or potential control issues appropriately.

Success in this role is measured by accurate and timely reporting, clear variance explanations, improved forecast discipline, stronger data quality, effective stakeholder support, contribution to process improvement, and the ability to turn financial data into practical recommendations for business leaders.

Be proactive, curious, organized, and detailed oriented. Follow through on commitments, and communicate risks early.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Oracle financials.
  • Comfort working with large data sets, automation tools, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The expected base salary range for this role in British Columbia is CAD $70,000 to $80,000 annually. This range reflects the company’s reasonable expectation for base pay at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, market data, internal equity, and business needs. This role is eligible for annual incentive. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
