Description
Summary
Responsible for repairing and maintaining the operation of all City vehicles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform preventative maintenance on city vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair city vehicles.
- Order necessary parts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly Fleet Shop.
- Complete work labor and task information.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- 2 years related experience
- Must own basic hand and air tools
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
- 6 months to 1 year advanced training in automotive mechanics
- 2-4 years experience in automotive shop repair and diagnosis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- General knowledge of automotive repair and diagnostics
- General knowledge of Fleet software processes
- Skill in utilizing Shop Key software
- Skill in performing preventative maintenance on vehicles
Licenses and Certifications
Must obtain 1 ASE Certification within one year of hire Valid Class A Commercial Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
