About this Opportunity

This position reports to the Senior Director of Events & Engagement, within the Tyee Club. The Director of the Big W Club & Engagement Programs will be responsible for the leadership, management, oversight, and execution of a comprehensive former student-athlete outreach program serving all alumni of the University of Washington’s Athletic Department.

This role represents Husky Athletics at individual, team, community, and regional engagement activities and serves as a visible ambassador for the department and its traditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student-Athlete Network and Career Engagement Program (40%).

  • Recognition, Stewardship, and Alumni Affinity Programs (40%).

  • Planning, Collaboration, Compliance (20%).

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in athletic administration, development, business, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in athletic administration, alumni relations, fundraising, program development, education, coaching or student affairs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and according to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
  • Skill in working independently and following through on duties with minimal direction.
  • Outstanding communication skills both oral and written, including skill in writing memos and reports. Outstanding listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills in work with academic staff and student-athletes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with individuals of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. Ability to establish working relationships and interact collaboratively and effectively with other staff, student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and the university community. Ability to effectively counsel and advice students with professional, academic, and/or personal questions and concerns.

Working Conditions

Must have regular and reliable transportation for local travel and willing to travel when necessary. Ability to work evening and weekend hours and to flex in-office days, as necessary, on short or limited notice

Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is to ensure the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$96,996.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$105,000.00 annual

Other Compensation:

- Taxable benefits include tickets to UW Intercollegiate home competitions. - Non-local candidates may be eligible for a moving allowance.
