In this role, you will have the opportunity to support business, collaborate with different teams, and contribute to the company's strategic objectives. Each day, you will gain knowledge by performing tasks as directed by the program manager/corresponding leader. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and participating in the local Trainee Program. 
 
About the program  

Participants in the two-year rotational program will complete three rotations over two years, gaining experience across manufacturing operations, supply chain, purchasing, logistics, procurement, pricing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing supervision. Rotations may be structured as 6 months, 6 months, and 12 months and will be completed within one ABB business group (Electrification or Motion), selected based on individual interests, skills, and business needs. 

 

Responsibilities may include designing and executing manufacturing operations projects, updating and optimizing production lines, implementing lean manufacturing practices, improving product flow, supporting production line setup, and driving strategic problem-solving initiatives. Participants may also support supply chain and procurement activities, logistics operations, pricing strategies, continuous improvement efforts, Kaizen events, Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and maintenance, and compliance-related initiatives. 

 

The program begins with a July orientation and includes global early talent programming focused on professional development, technical training, networking, and social engagement. Participants are supported by a dedicated program manager throughout the experience and will culminate the program with a capstone project and final presentation showcasing their contributions and growth. 

 

You will be mainly accountable for: 

  • Supporting the implementation, delivery, and continuous improvement of products and services within the defined area as directed. 

  • Participating in formal training to develop personal and leadership skills in preparation for future professional roles. 

  • Delivering the assigned tasks/projects within the assignment period. 

  • Contributing to diverse social events and team activities and using the chance to establish a broad network within ABB. 

 

Qualifications for the role:  

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain or Engineering (Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred), with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027. 

  • Preferred experience in relevant internships or co-ops 

  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies 

  • Proven project management experience, with an ability to manage timelines and deliverables 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis 

  • Able to interpret and work with manufacturing documentation and specifications 

  • Open to relocation across the U.S. for each program rotation; relocation assistance is provided 

  • Eager to grow through a variety of experiences and perspectives within a dynamic work environment 

  • Committed to a growth mindset focused on continuous learning and professional development 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams 

  • Must have valid U.S. work authorization and must not require visa sponsorship (including CPT or OPT) from ABB now or in the future

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy. 

 

The program is expected to pay $80,000 annually.
