Senior Environmental Technician

The ideal candidate collects samples, observes facility operations, interprets data, and communicates issues with operations and management. Provides expertise to assure compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Troubleshoots and maintains an environmental electronic database and inspection records and modifies as needed. Provides expertise to implement new software and equipment to continue on-going environmental compliance. Directs contractors as necessary.

What you’ll do?

  • Conducts facility environmental testing and sampling in accordance with strict regulatory procedures.

  • This may include providing technical training to assist with on-going compliance. Requires high attention to detail.

  • Interprets data and communicates environmental issues to operations and environmental management.

  • Provide recommendations to encourage environmental excellence throughout maintenance and operations.

  • Performs inspections of plant areas to assure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Troubleshoots and manages environmental field sampling data using an electronic database.

  • The drinking water operator monitors and maintains water treatment and distribution systems to provide safe, potable water.

  • Responsibilities include adjusting chemical feeds, collecting samples for laboratory tests, field sample analysis, and recordkeeping to comply with regulations.

  • The wastewater operator monitors plant processes, adjusts chemical feeds and equipment, collects samples, maintains operational logs and data records, and completes regulatory compliance reports.

  • Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

  • High School/GED required.

  • 2-3 Years Environmental Health and Safety experience

  • 1-2 Years Microsoft Office Suite experience 

  • 2-3 Years Operations experience preferred

  • Class D Domestic Wastewater Operator License preferred

  • Class D Potable Drinking Water Operator License preferred
