What Finance Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Finance Operations is responsible for supporting the financial integrity and operational performance of the organization through accurate accounting, financial controls, reporting, forecasting, and compliance activities. This position supports the management and control of fixed assets and capital investments, ensuring accurate records, proper capitalization, depreciation, and compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
Job Summary
The Analyst, Finance – Fixed Assets is responsible for controlling, recording, and maintaining fixed asset transactions to ensure accurate financial records and asset locations. This position supports fixed asset activities for Mexico and U.S. operations, including depreciation, capitalization, construction in progress (CIP), asset transfers and disposals, capital forecasting, and capital project tracking.
The role partners with Finance and operational teams to ensure compliance with fixed asset procedures, internal controls, and applicable policies. The Analyst will also support month-end closing activities, audits, capital expenditure processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, fixed assets, or a related area preferred.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with fixed assets, depreciation, capitalization, and capital expenditures preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of internal controls and financial processes.
- Experience supporting internal and/or external audits preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proactive, accountable, and service-oriented approach.
- Advanced English proficiency preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate fixed asset records for Mexico and U.S. operations.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment and calculation of fixed asset depreciation.
- Coordinate the receipt, documentation, photographs, identification, and physical location of fixed assets.
- Review and provide required information for Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) and support the approval process.
- Ensure compliance with established fixed asset policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare capital forecasts and monitor capital projects, including approvals, payments, expenditures, and budget execution.
- Perform capitalization activities and maintain appropriate control of Construction in Progress (CIP) for Mexico and U.S. operations.
- Process and maintain appropriate documentation for fixed asset transfers, disposals, and other asset movements.
- Support the administration and control of asset movement and exit documentation.
- Assist with month-end and financial closing activities related to fixed assets.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Partner with cross-functional and local teams to ensure fixed asset information is complete, accurate, and timely.
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with Cardinal Health policies, Quality System requirements, Ethics standards, and applicable EHS procedures.
