We are seeking a Technology Systems Project Designer to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. The ideal candidate will design telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for a variety of vertical building projects. This role involves collaborating with senior Technology Systems staff and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality designs while continuing to grow technical expertise. Strong time management, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to learning and problem solving are critical to success in this role.

Requirements
Experience and Education
- Candidates must have 3-7 years of experience designing telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for vertical building projects.
- Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is required.
- An Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Must be proficient in Autodesk Revit, including model setup, linking, navigation, and producing Technology Systems designs from project initiation through completion.
- Strong time management and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products
Interpersonal Skills
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a positive, proactive approach to problem solving and professional development.
- Must work effectively with Technology Systems team members, other design disciplines, subconsultants, and clients.
Eligibility
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
Desirable
- Experience with federal government projects.
- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification or a desire to obtain the certification as part of professional development.
- AVIXA CTS certification or a desire to obtain the certification as part of professional development.
Responsibilities
- Design telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for a variety of projects.
- Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction documents.
- Collaborate with senior Technology Systems staff to deliver quality designs and develop technical expertise.
- Attend client and project meetings to coordinate items related to project scope and design. Approximate travel requirement 10%-15%.
- Coordinate Technology Systems designs with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project quality standards, schedules, and budgets.
