THE OPPORTUNITY
Ready to level up your dairy career? Join Pinta Dairy as a (3iC) Assistant Dairy Production Manager.
This is more than a job - it’s an opportunity to take on real responsibility, grow your skills, and be part of a supportive, future‑focused team. You’ll work closely with the Farm Manager, with access to training, mentorship, and the chance to make a meaningful impact every day.
We use Halter technology on farm, giving you the opportunity to work with and learn cutting-edge tools for managing stock from your phone. It’s a great chance to build your skills in farming technology while working in a more efficient and flexible way.
No two days are the same, and you’ll be involved across the full farming cycle, including:
• Supporting feed planning and pasture management to hit production targets
• Leading milking operations and maintaining high hygiene and milk quality standards
• Monitoring animal health
• Managing effluent systems and ensuring environmental compliance
• Coaching junior team members and supporting day‑to‑day farm activities
You’ll be part of a safe, well‑supported work environment, with high‑quality PPE, well‑maintained equipment, and a strong team culture where health, safety, and looking out for one another come first.
This role operates on a roster of 6 days on, 2 days off, helping you balance work with life outside the farm.
ABOUT YOU
You enjoy being hands-on, take pride in doing things well, and are keen to keep learning and building your capability on-farm. You’re comfortable taking responsibility for your work, while also valuing collaboration and open communication with the wider team.
You’ll bring a thoughtful, practical approach to your day-to-day work, with a genuine commitment to animal wellbeing and working safely.
You’ll also have:
Solid dairy experience
Skills in pasture management, feed planning, and general farm operations
High standards of animal welfare and commitment to health and safety
Self-motivation and initiative, able to problem-solve
Current and full NZ driver’s licence

THE FARM
Pinta Dairy Unit is Pāmu’s largest dairy operation, milking around 2,100 cows across 877 hectares. The farm is supported by an upgraded 80-bail rotary dairy shed and makes use of Halter technology to enable modern, efficient farm management.
