Senior Sourcing Manager - NPI (Fixed Term - 18 months contract)

The Sourcing Manager collaborates closely with Product Development, cross-functional teams (XFTs) and within Supplier Alliance teams to define and implement the Sourcing Strategy for projects. This includes identifying new suppliers, managing existing partnerships, and facilitating effective communication between ResMed and suppliers. Key to success in this role is the ability to develop, collaborate and implement optimal supply chain solutions tailored to meet the specific requirements and production volume scalability of both released Products and Products within development.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities

• Represent the Global Supplier Alliance (GSA) function as part of the project XFT for projects within the allocated portfolio. 

• Develop and implement supply chain design and sourcing strategies for assigned projects in collaboration with business stakeholders, particularly cross-functional teams (XFT) and GSA function to meet project timeline, budgets and COGS. 

• Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, and GSA teams to identify key technologies driving innovation, quality, and cost efficiency, and ensure that the supplier base can effectively integrate these technologies through collaborative strategies. 

• Ensure that sourcing strategies take into consideration the balance between specific project needs, the current GSA strategies, related commercial strategies and prevailing business conditions. 

• Lead the supplier selection process in support of the sourcing strategy and facilitate the business processes in conjunction with ResMed Quality Management System. 

• Ensure appropriate commercial contracts and agreements in place and that any components, software and outsourced systems are correctly established and aligned to ResMed business processes. 

• Driving the adoption of best practices and implementing change management strategies to align commercial resources with the evolving demands of the business.

• Drive continuous process improvement within sourcing operations by leveraging data analytics to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency enhancement.

Required:

• Excellent at delivering clear and concise communications, whether verbally, in writing, or through presentations, especially when discussing updates and challenges. 

• Strong business acumen with cost management expertise. 

• Excellent in project management, execution planning and reporting. 

• Ability to analyze and understand data, aiding in the creation of models that provide solutions for the business. 

• Demonstrated ability to build strategic partner relationships. 

• Extensive expertise and practical knowledge in global procurement practices and legal regulations. 

• Strong negotiation skills and supply base management are required to ensure ResMed maintains competitive advantage in evolving commercial markets. 

• Requires basic knowledge of technical elements to identify the resources needed for optimal supplier and project outcomes. 

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and adaptable to diverse environments and situations. 

• Coordination of supply chain requirements across global regions. 

• Strong in stakeholder Management Skills  

• Position requires an in-depth understanding of the ResMed Quality Management system and product development cycle.  

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently within a fast-paced and agile work setting, requiring resilience and adeptness in handling pressure. 

Preferred Software knowledge:
Oracle, Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook/IE/Project, Tableau, Power BI, Jira/ Confluence, Contract Management, RFP software.

Preferred:

• Degree or Master qualification in Engineering, Science or Business discipline with at least 7 years of 
  experience. Alternatively, candidates with extensive directly applicable experience will be considered.  

• Strong commercial background with Manufacturing / Engineering / Supply environment. 

• Experience in global or regional sourcing, or a similar commercial function is an added advantage. 

• Experience in medical device industry related to project portfolio.
