Introduction to role
We are looking for a Senior Consultant – SAP ABAP HANA-UI/UX to strengthen our global SAP support and development capability across multiple landscapes and regions. In this role, we combine deep ABAP engineering with thoughtful UX design to transform how thousands of colleagues work every day. We deliver SAP solutions that accelerate critical operations and support the delivery of life-changing medicines to patients across the globe.
As a Senior Consultant, you will be a senior technical authority in a large, global SAP support and development program spanning multiple landscapes and regions. You will design, build and evolve SAP applications that are technically robust and effortless to use—raising adoption, accelerating workflows, and reducing friction at enterprise scale.
Working with architects, product owners and functional experts, you will lead end-to-end solutions across backend and UI—bringing together Fiori/UI5 experiences, OData services and performant ABAP on S/4HANA. You will turn complex processes into clear, accessible screens and flows, guide others to do the same, and drive continuous improvement and stability across our SAP estate.
Accountabilities
Fiori/UI5 Engineering: Design, develop and enhance SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications, building intuitive, responsive interfaces underpinned by robust OData services.
Backend and Integration Leadership: Lead ABAP development for S/4HANA and ECC, including CDS/AMDP and OO ABAP, ensuring clean integration across DRF, IDoc, PI/PO, CPI and SLT.
UX Leadership and Adoption: Elevate usability, accessibility and navigation through better screen design, interaction patterns and user flows—driving measurable improvements in adoption and efficiency.
Operations: Own incident and problem management, stabilize critical services, and deliver high-quality fixes and improvements across multiple SAP landscapes and time zones.
Quality and Documentation: Produce clear technical designs and testing assets; uphold development standards, code quality, and performance tuning for scalability and maintainability.
Change and Release Management: Initiate and implement changes tied to SAP Support Packages and Enhancement Packs in partnership with lead consultants; ensure smooth, well-governed deployments.
Extensions and Customization: Implement enhancements using BAdIs, user exits and USMD* APIs; configure and test based on functional and technical designs.
Performance and Optimization: Proactively identify bottlenecks and optimize applications, workflows and integrations to improve efficiency and reliability.
Cross-System Interoperability: Build solutions that perform across a diverse SAP landscape (including ECC 6.0 EHP8, S/4HANA, PI, BW, EWM, GST, GBT, APO, ATTP, MDG, LSCV, SOLMAN, OMP, GST/Movilizer and third-party systems).
Embrace AI-enabled and digital development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality and enhance supportability.
Mentoring and Collaboration: Partner with architects and technical leads; mentor peers; promote shared standards and reusable patterns that raise team velocity and consistency.
Crucial Skills/Experience
Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, including user-centered design, usability, responsive design, and accessibility
Solid understanding of Fiori/UI5, OData, and front-end-backend integration
Strong familiarity with UI and UX fundamentals and enterprise application usability
Ability to work with both backend and frontend teams to deliver integrated SAP solutions
Integration: SAP S/4HANA, ECC, DRF, IDoc, OData, PI/PO, CPI, SLT
Fiori/UI: MDG Fiori apps, OData services, CDS views, UI enhancements, BAdIs
Technical Extensions: BAdIs, USMD* APIs, User Exits, BADIs for validations and derivations
Programming: ABAP, CDS, OO ABAP, AMDP; performance tuning
CORE ABAP (RICEFW) and S/4 HANA (CDS/AMDP/Developer Extensibility)
OData API, REST services, ADT Tools (Eclipse), UI5 and Fiori/BAS
Modification concepts (Enhancement Framework/BADI/User exits)
SAP Integration (API/IDOC/PI-proxy/Files/Other)
Conversions (LTMC/BDC)
Forms (Adobe Interactive Forms/Smart forms/SAP Scripts)
Workflow ABAP
RAP
Should have completed at least 2 SAP implementations along with support experience.
Commit to deliver quality and have a detailed approach
Exposure to Run SAP (Solution Manager) methodologies.
Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive approach to problem solving.
Experience working in a globally distributed team
HTML5/JavaScript (SAP UI5)
Desirable Skills/Experience
Good understanding of the Solution Manager CHARM/Jira process will be an added advantage
Exposure to BTP Related services and applications
Exposure to AI assisted development tools would be preferred (Github CoPilot, Amazon QDeveloper)
BW, ATTP, GBT and APO skills are added Advantage.
Preferably an Engineering qualification (B.E / B.Tech) or equivalence.
SAP certification on HANA Programming or SAP NetWeaver Development Associate / Professional level.
