Sawmill Quality Control Coordinator

We offer competitive wages with a full benefits plan, as well as optional RSP plans.The OpportunityWe are currently looking to hire a Quality Control Coordinator for our manufacturing facilities in Mitsue Industrial Park. Job duties include:Conducts daily Quality Control checks of all Sawmill and Planer mill stationsConducts package inspections to determine efficiency of GradexMonitors and makes necessary adjustments to ensure wood is being correctly graded, sorted, and packaged throughout the production processKeeps management informed of product quality or potential issuesWorks closely with Comact to ensure Gradex performs to the highest standardWorks closely with AFPA grading inspector to ensure quality checks are successful and accurateMaintains the HT Manual with changes noted, plus monitoring dry kiln schedules Working Conditions:Exposed to noise, dust, falling debris, moving machinery, weather extremes, splinters, slipping and tripping hazards.Lifting heavy, awkward objects and climbing on equipment may be required.Required use of PPE appropriate for the task and working conditions.Must have:A solid work ethic, be eager to learn, and be a team player A Bachelor of Science in Wood Product Processing or equivalent work experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in the lumber processing industrySound mechanical knowledge and attention to detail Current AFPA grading certificate is an asset, but not a requirementCandidates MUST either live in the local community or be willing to relocateIf this position sounds like a fit for you, please apply directly through the portal. We thank all candidates for their interest; only candidates selected to advance in our recruitment process will be contacted.
