Thompson Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Superintendent - Service to lead the development of our electrical service team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled journey-level electrician who enjoys mentoring others, solving complex technical challenges, and helping employees grow their careers.
As a Superintendent, you will work closely with the Service Department to train, develop, and support apprentice and journey-level electricians. Your leadership will help ensure high-quality workmanship, strong safety practices, and exceptional service for our customers.
What You'll Do
- Train, mentor, and develop apprentice and journey-level electricians.
- Provide hands-on instruction and remote troubleshooting support.
- Teach electrical fundamentals, troubleshooting techniques, code compliance, safety practices, and industrial electrical systems.
- Partner with leadership to identify training needs and create employee development plans.
- Review and inspect work to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met.
- Identify potential issues and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Coach employees on technical skills, company policies, safety requirements, and emerging technologies.
- Provide feedback to the Service Manager regarding employee growth, strengths, and development opportunities.
- Foster a culture focused on learning, teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Journey-level electrician with 10+ years of experience in electrical troubleshooting, code compliance, and construction.
- Passion for coaching, mentoring, and helping others develop their technical skills and careers.
- Strong ability to identify skill gaps and create development opportunities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to employees at all skill levels.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a variety of job site environments and conditions.
- Ability to walk active job sites, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to job sites and meetings.
