What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.
Make your impact
You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.
What you’ll do
Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services, frontend applications, and integrations with a strong focus on maintainability, performance, security, and usability. Daily work involves hands-on coding primarily in .NET / ASP.NET Core, Node.js, React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS. Success means delivering secure, scalable, and production-ready software that meets functional and operational requirements.
Low-Code Platform Contribution: Spend about 20% of your time contributing to development within a low-code digital twin and application platform (such as XMPRO), including solution configuration, application logic, and integration of custom components. While prior experience with XMPRO is not required, familiarity with similar tools like Grafana or Tableau is valuable.
Frontend Engineering: Lead frontend development (approximately 40% of the role) using React and Next.js or similar frameworks, building user-friendly, consistent, and maintainable UI components. Flexibility is essential as requirements evolve during development.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership through hands-on development, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous learning. While architectural skills are a plus, the primary focus is on strong software engineering execution.
Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, DevOps, QA, and other engineers in an agile environment to refine requirements and deliver high-quality software.
Release & Deployment: Support modern release practices such as feature flags, blue-green deployments, and production readiness, working with containerized applications and cloud-hosted environments.
Travel Requirements: Some international travel may be required depending on current guidelines, with flexibility to work non-standard hours due to the global nature of the role.
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you’ll bring

Experience or exposure to low-code or configurable application platforms such as XMPRO, Grafana, Tableau, or PI Vision, with a strong willingness and ability to learn new tools quickly.
Excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts and collaborate effectively across diverse team.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with software design and architecture practices including clean architecture, domain-driven design, and secure coding.
Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Kubernetes, and cloud-hosted deployments.
Background in industrial digital, IIoT, or data-intensive systems, especially in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry sectors.
Additional programming skills in languages like Go or Python.
Prior experience in technical leadership or mentoring roles.
