How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

The Environmental Technician I provides detailed housekeeping services to assigned areas and project spaces, including patient discharge areas and ancillary spaces.

The Environmental Technician I

• Provides detailed housekeeping services in all assigned rooms and areas as specified in policies and procedures.
• Completes special projects as assigned in a timely manner.
• Works in fast-paced and special procedures areas, such as ED, OR, L&D.
• Clean, maintain and restock Environmental Services equipment.
• Follow proper guidelines when cleaning discharges or project rooms.
• Communicates with lead/monitor tech/nursing staff.
• Completes proper documentation for isolation cleanings.

What We Require:

Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience: No experience required. On the job training provided. Previous institutional cleaning experience desirable.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: None required

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to communicate effectively and read written materials. Close attention to details essential. Position is considered essential during emergency weather conditions. Must be able to travel and work at different work sites within Carilion.

Compensation Range:

$16.18 - $22.65

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
