As a Broadcast Technical Operator, you will execute all technical requirements through camera operation, vision control and sound mixing for both live and non-live output that supports and promotes the maximisation of sales, airtime productivity and viewership.
Where You'll Work
This role is onsite and will require you to work from our Media & Commerce Centre in Chiswick Park, West London, on a full-time basis across Early Shifts (currently 07:00–18:00) and Late Shifts (currently 14:05–01:05).
What You'll Do
Operate broadcast equipment across live and recorded output, including studio and robotic cameras, lighting, vision and sound equipment, ensuring the highest possible technical standards
Prepare and rig broadcast equipment and product demonstration set-ups for use in studio and on location, making sure all operational and broadcast standards are met
Work closely with the Camera Supervisor, Technical Operations Manager and Studio Director to ensure full readiness for live and pre-recorded shows, using production plans and internal systems such as Confluence and Kiwi
Support technical delivery across a range of production requirements, including camera operation, lighting adjustments, sound control room duties and outside broadcast or PSC shoots where required
Maintain safe working practices at all times, including cable rigging, equipment handling and adherence to QVC health and safety procedures and risk assessments
Day to day, you will help ensure productions run smoothly by preparing equipment in advance, responding proactively to studio requirements, supporting shift handovers and contributing to consistent technical excellence across broadcast operations.
You may also support the training and development of new team members and provide technical guidance during studio and location activity as needed.
What You'll Bring
- Considerable hands-on broadcast experience within television, ideally in a live studio environment, with practical knowledge of cameras, lighting, sound and vision control equipment
- A relevant qualification such as a Foundation Degree, HND or equivalent in TV Operations, TV Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related discipline
- Strong technical understanding of television production systems, including digital broadcast environments, camera chains and fault diagnosis, with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- You will also bring strong communication skills, a proactive approach to preparation and teamwork, solid computer literacy and a clear commitment to delivering safe, high-quality broadcast output in a fast-paced production environment.
