Cloud & Smart Industries Group (CSIG) is responsible for promoting the company's cloud and industry Internet strategy. CSIG explores the interactions between users and industries to create innovative solutions for smart industries via technological advancements such as cloud, AI, and network security. While driving the digitalization of retail, medical, education, transportation and other industries, CSIG helps companies serve users in smarter ways, building a new ecosystem of intelligent industries that connect users and businesses.

What the Role Entails

Under the supervision of senior legal counsel, you will support Tencent Cloud's international legal and compliance matters and gain hands-on experience working in an in-house legal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the legal team in advising Tencent Cloud's international business operations.

  • Conduct legal and regulatory research on matters relating to cloud services, data protection, AI, cybersecurity, and other technology-related regulations.

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in the European Union and other relevant jurisdictions, and prepare legal updates and internal briefings.

  • Assist in reviewing, drafting, proofreading, and translating commercial contracts and other legal documents.

  • Prepare internal legal memoranda, research notes, and compliance guidance.

  • Organize and maintain legal documentation and assist with other legal and compliance projects as needed.

Who We Look For

  • Master's degree in Law obtained in China or a European jurisdiction, or currently pursuing such a degree.

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills, with a solid foundation in legal principles.

  • Good understanding of the European Union legal and regulatory framework. Prior exposure to technology, data protection, or commercial law is an advantage.

  • Excellent working proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese to communicate with HQ in China. French is a plus but is not required.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive, eager to learn, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and legal research databases is highly desirable.

  • Previous internship experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is a plus but not required.

  • Available for a six-month full-time internship.
