Starting Rate of Pay: $8.00
Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis
Department Description
The School of Communication houses ten majors and ten minors. Many School of Communication courses require video and audio equipment to be checked out to complete assignments for class. The Equipment Room Assistant will gain a deeper understanding and knowledge on communication equipment, while improving communication skills.
Job Description
The Equipment Room Assistant is responsible for checking out appropriate equipment to students and returning checked in equipment to the appropriate place in the equipment room.
Job Location/ Hours Required
The candidate will perform most/all job duties in the School of Communication Equipment Check Out Room (Qubein 208). Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all equipment is checked out/in according to NQSC procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment room
- Escalate any equipment issues to appropriate NQSC staff
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
The Equipment/Check Out Room Assistant must have experience with the NQSC video and audio equipment. This person must have a positive attitude, be able to work well with other students and staff, and be detail oriented to ensure no equipment is lost or misplaced.
Desired Skills:
- Must have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA
- Hours per week (6-10 depending on equipment room schedule)
