Description

Head of Global Content and Editorial

Remote US | Approximately $200,000 to $240,000 Base

Every major technology shift creates a new generation of media companies.

The internet created them. Social created them. Mobile created them.

AI is creating the next one.

This rapidly scaling digital media business has already built an audience of millions around artificial intelligence and emerging technology, reaching founders, investors, engineers, operators and professionals trying to understand how AI is reshaping their world.

Now the business wants to become much more than a successful digital publication.

The goal is to build a global media brand for the AI generation.

That means expanding beyond written editorial into video, podcasts, social, research, original programming and entirely new formats that may not exist yet.

They are looking for a Head of Global Content and Editorial to lead that transformation.

You will define the editorial identity of the business.

What should the brand be known for? Which stories should it own? What should audiences trust it for? Which new formats could become daily habits for millions of people?

Those questions will sit with you.

You will lead the editorial organisation, recruit exceptional talent and create an environment where journalists, creators, producers and editors can move quickly without sacrificing quality.

You will remain close to the work.

This role needs someone who can elevate a story, challenge an angle, coach an experienced journalist and recognise within minutes whether an idea has the potential to become a breakout piece of content.

But the bigger opportunity is building systems around that instinct.

You will create editorial processes that allow the business to publish at speed, use AI intelligently, develop repeatable franchises and expand successfully across newsletters, YouTube, social, podcasts and emerging platforms.

Audience building matters as much as editorial judgement.

The ideal person understands that modern media companies do not simply publish stories. They build communities, personalities, formats and products that audiences actively choose to spend time with.

You will likely have led editorial within a respected technology, business or digital media brand, with a track record of growing both teams and audiences.

You should understand the difference between covering AI because it is fashionable and genuinely understanding the technology, companies and people shaping the category.

You will also be comfortable experimenting with AI tools yourself, using them to improve the way editorial teams research, create and operate while knowing exactly where human judgement must remain central.

This is not a role for someone looking to inherit a finished publication.

It is for someone who wants to build the editorial institution that people may one day look back on as one of the defining media companies of the AI era.

Remote US | Approximately $200,000 to $240,000 base, depending on experience
