Overview
Under the leadership of the Rentals Manager, assist with all aspects of year-round rental group hospitality and event preparation, including housekeeping, set up, facility maintenance, hosting, and supervision of casual staff. Work with the Food Service Director to enhance the overall dining experience. Develop curriculum for specialized program areas. Plan and develop the TAG (Teens After God) program and curriculum to be implemented during Summer Youth Camp. Oversee all aspects of Camp Tecumseh TAG Program including devotions, work-skill development, and character development of TAG Staff. Manage parental permissions of all under-18 summer camp staff.

Guest Services
- Provide personal attention to guests through a proactive and welcoming approach.
- Work with Food Service Director to provide a clean and welcoming Dining Hall experience for guests, taking the lead on ambiance creation and enhancement. Greet groups upon arrival and coordinate with group leaders to ensure a successful dining experience.
- Develop formal Dining Hall procedures and best practices to be implemented during both rental and summer seasons.
- Supervise Casual Staff in Dining Hall and elsewhere as needed.
- Assist with housekeeping duties related to rental groups as needed, including turning over spaces between groups, laundering, and maintaining cleanliness of spaces during events.
- Assist with light landscaping and maintenance duties pertaining to rental facilities as needed.
- Assist with setup of rental spaces for events.
- Provide information to guests and answer questions in a professional and hospitable manner, reporting complaints and concerns in a timely fashion to Rentals Manager, Food Service Director, and/or Caretaker for resolution.
- Develop written curriculum for specialized program areas to enhance programmatic offerings for rental groups.
- Plan, prepare, and implement specialized program activities as needed, maintaining appropriate qualifications in Archery and Low Ropes instruction.
- Serve as an alternative contact for rental groups on site when Rentals Manager is unavailable.
TAG Program
- During the off-season, develop TAG program and curriculum to be implemented during Summer Youth Camp.
- Under consultation with Rentals Manager and Camp Director, manage year-round weekly work schedule to meet the fluctuating priorities of rental needs and Summer Youth Camp programming.
- Work with TAG work supervisors to coordinate overall daily and weekly schedules of TAG Staff.
- Lead Daily TAG devotions.
- Provide guidance for resolving conflict between TAG members.
- Counsel TAG Staff to grow in spiritual and occupational maturity.
- Serve as advocate for TAG STAFF to Camp Leadership.
- Plan Night Programs and Group activities for TAG Staff as needed.
- Maintain roster of TAG Staff parental permissions pertaining to leaving camp and Camp Staff Activities and events.
- Document all incidents concerning TAG STAFF with campers and/or camp staff.
- Participate in designated aspects of staff orientation.
- Work with TAG Work area supervisors to assess effectiveness of TAG STAFF providing support/correction where needed.
- Assist with opening & closing day procedures for each camp session.
- Serve as a member of the camp leadership staff, attending meetings as scheduled by the Camp Director.
- Be committed to the development of campers spiritually, physically, educationally, emotionally, and socially.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings.
- Adhere to policies and Procedures of Camp Tecumseh Staff Manual.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrative Staff.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Minimum of at least 2-3 years of work camp experience, including camp leadership experience, and at least two years of college education required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must have a valid driving license.
- Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
- Evenings and weekends required.
- Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
- As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse, meeting the training standards of NJ Title 9:6 by the end of orientation with recurrent training required every three years thereafter.
- Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by NJ Title 9 law to include National Background Check including National Sex Offender, Social Security Trace, US-SOR Research, and Statewide/All Counties.
Desired Qualifications
- Christian familiar with the principles of Christian living found in the New Testament and seeking God’s guidance for help in his/her daily walk.
- Understanding of the goals and objectives of Camp Tecumseh and its program.
- Training or experience in environmental education and outdoor activities, or willingness to receive such training.
- Bearing in mind the camp topography (hills, uneven paths, woodland etc.), must be physically fit and able to participate in all areas of the camp program.
- Willingness to help in all areas of camp service and programming.
