Dosis Tech (Overnight Shift)

Description

The DOSIS Technician supports MedWiz Pharmacy’s production operations by ensuring efficient use of DOSIS machines, maintaining medication and supply inventory, monitoring order queues, and addressing equipment and workflow issues. This role works closely with pharmacy management, pharmacists, and production staff to support timely medication filling and consistent department operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure optimal utilization of DOSIS machines through medication and supply restocking, canister swaps, inventory ordering requests, and distribution of daily workload among machines and staff.
• Coordinate ongoing canister stocking throughout the day to minimize interruptions in the filling process.
• Manage filling discrepancies and follow standard operating procedures for returning medications to canisters for reuse after pharmacist approval.
• Work with the pre-pack department to manage DOSIS returns and add cards into the pre-pack management system.
• Monitor workflows and production queues to ensure orders are completed on time.
• Review drug throughput reports to evaluate canister utilization and determine whether canisters should be reassigned to different medications.
• Troubleshoot reported canister and tower issues, track helpdesk tickets, and follow through to resolution.
• Complete daily tasks, including checking and ordering stock, reporting broken canisters, and cleaning workstations.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of department processes and respond promptly to unexpected issues during the shift.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills and contribute to a collaborative, positive work environment.
• Communicate issues and improvement opportunities affecting workflow, efficiency, or production to pharmacy management.

Requirements

   Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
• Predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a pharmacy technician license

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, and walk.
• Ability to communicate verbally and hear.
• Visual abilities necessary for the role include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, adjusting focus, and distinguishing colors, shades, and brightness.
