Tech III Responsibilities

The technician will be required to perform routine calibration, preventative maintenance and repairs to instrument systems and components of laboratory equipment, production equipment, central utilities and building management.

Key areas of knowledge and experience include:

• Process and Utility Instrumentation: Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation used to measure and control pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical parameters, and environmental conditions.
• Final Control Elements: Troubleshoot and maintain control valves, actuators, valve positioners, regulators, switches, transmitters, sensors, signal-conditioning equipment, and associated pneumatic, electrical, and electronic components.
• Allen-Bradley Control Systems: Demonstrate working knowledge of Allen-Bradley process control systems, including relevant hardware, software, programmable controllers, input/output systems, networking, diagnostics, and fault-finding methods.
• Emerson Delta-V Systems: Apply knowledge of Emerson Delta-V distributed control systems, including system architecture, controllers, input/output modules, control strategies, alarms, operator interfaces, system diagnostics, and communications.
• Building Management Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot Building Management Systems and associated facility monitoring and control systems, including alarms, environmental monitoring, HVAC controls, utility systems, and building services interfaces.
• PLC, DCS, and Control Architecture: Work effectively with programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, human-machine interfaces, alarm systems, data acquisition systems, supervisory control systems, and related control hardware and software.
• Industrial Communication Protocols: Troubleshoot and support industrial communication networks and instrumentation protocols, including Fieldbus, Profibus, Device Net, OPC, TCP/IP, and other applicable communication technologies.
• Calibration and Measurement: Apply sound knowledge of calibration principles, measurement accuracy, repeatability, traceability, uncertainty, reference standards, test equipment, calibration tolerances, and out-of-tolerance assessment.
• Technical Drawings and Documentation: Interpret and use electrical drawings, instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, equipment manuals, specifications, datasheets, and other technical documentation to perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintenance Management Systems: Use computerized maintenance management systems and electronic records to plan, execute, document, and close maintenance, calibration, inspection, and repair activities accurately and on time.
• cGxP Compliance: Apply cGxP requirements to maintenance, calibration, equipment records, investigations, deviations, change controls, corrective and preventive actions, and associated technical documentation.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma and 5-10 years of relevant experience, or
• Bachelors Degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $55,713 to $83,750 Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
