Why this is an exciting opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager Controls Assurance, you will play a key role in providing independent assurance and oversight across HUB24's control environment, partnering with stakeholders to strengthen risk management practices and support positive business outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
Conduct risk-based testing and reviews of key risk and compliance controls across the business to assess control effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Provide independent oversight and challenge of risk-taking activities across the HUB24 Group.
Identify control gaps, areas for improvement and recommend practical solutions to strengthen the control environment.
Monitor the effectiveness of the Risk Management Framework, risk culture and control environment, and report findings to stakeholders.
Support the development and execution of the annual Controls Assurance Plan, including integration with Internal Audit activities.
Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis and post-implementation reviews of significant regulatory change initiatives.
Support business teams in strengthening operational controls, compliance plans and audit readiness.
Prepare assurance reporting, insights and updates for key stakeholders, leadership forums, Boards and Committees.
What you bring
You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.
Experience & Skills
Degree qualified in Law, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
2–3+ years' experience in controls assurance, audit, risk, compliance or a similar role within financial services.
Experience working within an Australian financial services environment, ideally wealth management or a related sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, evaluate controls and interpret complex information.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence outcomes.
Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
GRCI or RMIA accreditation will be highly regarded.
