Position Summary:
Central Glass is looking for an experienced Operations Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day execution of our glass and glazing operations. We are looking for a well-rounded glass professional who understands how the entire operation fits together — field installation, service, fabrication, scheduling, project management, manpower, materials, customers, and jobsite coordination.
The right person is a jack-of-all-trades within the glass industry. Someone who can run the schedule, review drawings with a Project Manager, troubleshoot a fabrication or installation issue, meet a GC onsite, field measure an opening, reset a crew, and step into the field when necessary.
This position will work closely with the COO, Project Managers, field leadership, and shop personnel to make sure our projects have the people, materials, information, equipment, and direction needed to keep moving.

About Us:
Central Glass is a trusted leader in commercial architectural glass and glazing systems. We specialize in curtain wall, storefront, aluminum windows, glass entrances, and exterior façade solutions for mid to large-scale commercial construction projects. With a commitment to precision, performance, and safety, we deliver high-quality glazing systems across a wide range of commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of daily field and shop operations, manpower planning, scheduling, and project priorities.
- Work with Project Managers and company leadership to coordinate installation sequencing, manpower, equipment, deliveries, and jobsite requirements.
- Anticipate scheduling conflicts, manpower shortages, access issues, material concerns, weather, and other obstacles before they impact production.
- Lead foremen, glaziers, service technicians, and shop personnel. Set expectations, provide direction, and hold people accountable.
- Know the strengths of the team and put the right people on the right work.
- Visit active projects for critical starts, field measurements, quality-control walks, troubleshooting, and problem jobs.
- Work directly with GCs, superintendents, customers, vendors, and other trades when senior-level involvement is needed.
- Review architectural and shop drawings and help resolve issues between drawings, fabrication, field conditions, and installation.
- Step outside normal management responsibilities when needed — whether that means helping with a field measure, service issue, punch list, installation problem, or getting hands-on with the work.
- Protect job costs by minimizing rework, wasted trips, damaged material, idle manpower, and inefficient labor.
- Drive punch-list and closeout work so projects do not linger.
- Enforce company standards for safety, workmanship, productivity, and communication.
- Help recruit, onboard, train, and develop field and shop employees while building stronger foremen and future leaders.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on glass and glazing experience.
- Strong working knowledge of storefront, entrances, interior glass, mirrors, railings, curtain wall, and related glazing systems.
- Experience supervising or directing field and/or shop personnel.
- Ability to read architectural and shop drawings and understand their impact on fabrication and installation.
- Strong understanding of field measuring, installation sequencing, manpower planning, and jobsite logistics.
- Ability to troubleshoot glazing and installation issues in the field.
- Project management capability, including schedules, drawings, changing field conditions, coordination, and closeout.
- Great communication and problem-solving skills with team members.
- Willing and able to work on active jobsites and assist hands-on when necessary.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to projects throughout New England.
Preferred
- 10+ years of glass and glazing industry experience.
- Experience across multiple areas of the glazing business rather than one specific function.
- Previous experience as a General Superintendent, Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, Field Operations Manager, or similar leadership position with a glazing contractor.
- OSHA 30 and other applicable construction or glazing certifications.
