This person will play a key role in improving companywide inventory visibility and control as Arrow continues transitioning to SAP.
You will help reduce inventory while improving service, throughput, reporting, and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing or distribution background and enjoys using systems and data to solve business problems and improve processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels across product lines, warehouses, and distribution locations, including finished goods, eGaming, hardware, equipment, and related components.
- Set and maintain target inventory levels, forecasts, and planning parameters by item, and monitor on-hand inventory against targets by product class, product group, and warehouse.
- Develop, publish, and automate reporting on inventory, service levels, demand, warehouse balances, transfers, product availability, and progress against targets.
- Support SAP transition efforts by improving reporting, inventory controls, planning processes, and system data accuracy.
- Support planning systems and processes, including forecasting, MPS, MRP, and DRP.
- Oversee transfers between warehouses to maintain inventory balance and support customer service levels.
- Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, and service performance to identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory and prevent out-of-stock conditions.
- Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, planning, warehouse, and operations teams to improve inventory turns and coordination between supply, demand, and customer requirements.
- Create, maintain, and audit system data and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and reporting integrity.
- Train managers and team members on inventory procedures, reporting tools, system changes, and proper data entry.
- Travel to warehouse or distribution locations as needed to support physical inventories, audits, training, and process improvements.
Requirements
- 4-year degree in engineering, business, supply chain, systems, programming, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, inventory control, materials planning, purchasing, or scheduling.
- Strong ERP experience required; SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with AS/400, Query, PRMS, or other integrated manufacturing systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse inventory, forecasting, MPS, MRP, DRP, and inventory turns.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Experience building reports, extracting data, analyzing inventory trends, and improving planning processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be comfortable digging into numbers, identifying gaps, improving systems, and helping teams make better decisions with data.
