Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Software Quality Analyst located in Huntsville, AL.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures.

- Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives
- Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract
- Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies
- Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
- Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Facilitator who oversees the entire RCCA lifecycle from Problem statement through reconciliation, including monitoring status of corrective actions and preventative actions, review/analyze/defect data, monitoring test problem report data and closure status, including full documentation and reporting to all stakeholders
- Lead and support internal and external audits and complete reports
- Assist Program Quality Managers with Mission Assurance/Program Management requirements and metrics
- Support fielded major end items (MEI) Integration of software as needed
- Prepare and/or present data in management-level presentations
- Ability to read documentation such as contractual standards and program plans. Statements of work (SOW) and requirements
- Proficient in industry Quality Standards
- Ability to initiate and work corrective actions (CARs) through completion and sign-off
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance
- Ability to read documentation such as contractual standards, program plans, statements of work, and requirements
- Experience with ISO9001, and/or AS9100 industry standards
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
- Must have an Active Secret DOD Security Clearance
- Must be able to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dedicated to teamwork and must be able to work well in a team environment
- ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor
- Familiar with AS9102 and AS6500
- Familiar with DO 187C process adherence and compliance and/or AS 9100D
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance
- Experience working with military or government contracts
- Experience with supplier quality, and quality management system (QMS) oversight
