Description
Eaton’s Commercial Products and Assemblies (CPA) division is currently seeking a Lead Change Coordinator Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Sumter, SC facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

## What you’ll do:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Lead Change Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and supporting the execution of the organization’s Change Management process to ensure that product, process, supplier, equipment, and system changes are properly evaluated, approved, implemented, validated, communicated, and closed.
This role supports cross-functional alignment between Quality, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Program Management, and other stakeholders to ensure changes are managed in a controlled, traceable, and risk-based manner. The position helps protect customer requirements, product quality, operational continuity, compliance, and process effectiveness by ensuring changes follow the defined governance process and are completed on time with required evidence.
## ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead Coordination of the Change Management process from initiation through closure. Ensure all changes are properly documented, reviewed, approved, implemented, validated, and closed according to the defined Change Management procedure.
- Review change requests for completeness and routing accuracy and verify that each change request includes: the required description, reason for change, affected product/process/system, risk assessment, required approvals, implementation plan, validation requirements, and closure evidence.
- Lead review meetings with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Program Management, Customer Quality, and other stakeholders to ensure risks and impacts are properly assessed.
- Own and Maintain the Change Management tracker and monitor open actions. Track change status, aging, overdue approvals, pending validations, open tasks, escalation items, implementation dates, and closure status.
- Ensure risk and impact assessments are completed. Confirm that change requests evaluate potential impact to safety, regulatory compliance, customer requirements, CTQs, PFMEA, Control Plan, inspection plans, work instructions, supplier requirements, inventory, production readiness, and validation activities.
- Coordinate approval routing based on change category and risk level. Ensure the correct functional approvers are included based on change type, scope, customer impact, supplier impact, process risk, or system impact.
- Support validation and implementation planning and ensure plans include required actions, owners, due dates, containment needs, training requirements, documentation updates, production controls, and validation evidence.
- Drive timely closure of change requests by following-up with action owners to ensure completion of required tasks, documentation, communication, and validation before closure.
- Communicate risks and delays to appropriate leadership when approvals, implementation actions, or validation activities are not completed as required.
- Prepare and communicate performance indicators such as open changes, aging, overdue actions, approval cycle time, on-time completion, validation completion, closure effectiveness, and recurring issues.
- Identify process gaps, recurring delays, unclear ownership, routing issues, and documentation weaknesses; recommend improvements to strengthen process effectiveness.
- Ensure Change Management records are complete, traceable, retrievable, and aligned with internal quality system requirements, customer expectations, and applicable standards.
- Assist with training users on the process, required documentation, routing expectations, approval requirements, and closure criteria.
- Reinforce the importance of controlled changes, clear communication, cross-functional review, validation, and timely closure.
## Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related program from an accredited university
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Program Management

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience managing people and project teams in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of PFMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, 8D, A3, and root cause analysis preferred
- Experience using workflow management, document management, or change control systems
Position Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and influence change & peers across the organization
- Experience coordinating cross-functional workstreams or process governance
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
- Strong written, verbal and computer business communication skills required
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office platform (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and PowerBI
- Understanding of Change Management principles and governance
- Ability to coordinate approval workflows and cross-functional reviews
- Understanding of risk-based decision making
- Knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes and operational controls
- Ability to develop and maintain process documentation
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prepare reports

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is primarily based in an office environment.
