The Cost Price Analyst I supports Sales and Technical teams by preparing accurate quotes for new items using established cost models and pricing tools. This role focuses on RFQ processing, data accuracy, cost validation, and margin maintenance. The position works closely with the Quoting Team and Finance to ensure pricing information is accurate, complete, and aligned with company guidelines.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Process Requests for Quote (RFQs) by entering and validating item specifications in the RFQ system.
- Prepare quotes for new items using established cost models, templates, and pricing guidelines.
- Verify quote accuracy in coordination with the Quoting Team and other stakeholders.
- Maintain customer margin requirements in accordance with company pricing objectives.
- Submit completed quotes for review and approval.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and supporting manufacturing information used in the quoting process.
- Support product costing and pricing activities by ensuring manufacturing data is accurate and complete.
- Assist with annual production standard reviews and costing updates.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and pricing-related projects as assigned.
- Maintain documentation related to quotations, customer requests, and pricing activities.
- Collaborate with Sales, Technical, Production, and Finance teams to resolve pricing and costing questions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required.
- 0–3 years of related experience.
- Manufacturing, costing, pricing, or quoting experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), production routings, and manufacturing processes preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to learn costing models, pricing processes, and ERP systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing costing principles preferred.
