The Global Solutions Center Logistics is located in Huizingen, Belgium and specializes in automation solutions for intralogistics, e-commerce, retail, fresh food, non-food and express parcel segments. Our portfolio ranges from robotic products to modular cells, engineered turnkey solutions and lifecycle management services.
The quality, safety and reliability of our on-site execution are key to the success of our automation projects. As a Site Manager, you play a central role in bringing our engineered solutions to life at customer sites. You combine technical expertise, leadership and a strong hands-on mindset to ensure high-quality installations, smooth commissioning and satisfied customers.
As Senior Site Manager, you are responsible for the on-site execution and coordination of automation and electrical works, from preparation until commissioning.
Tasks
Lead and coordinate on-site activities;
Coordinate and supervise the work of external suppliers and subcontractors on-site;
Take ownership of on-site coordination;
Organize safety introductions for ABB colleagues and subcontractors on site;
Organize, document and lead toolbox meetings;
Ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures;
Act as the main on-site contact for the customer and other stakeholders;
Coach, guide and supervise a team of technicians:
Explain tasks and technical concepts;
Set priorities to allocate work;
Monitor progress and quality;
Provide on-the-job guidance and feedback;
Act as the bridge between Electrical Engineering and the on-site technicians, ensuring that engineering intent is correctly and efficiently translated into execution;
Actively contribute on-site with a hands-on mindset, supporting installation, troubleshooting and commissioning activities when needed;
Perform and support basic commissioning activities, such as IO testing and initial functional validations;
Identify issues, deviations or improvement opportunities during execution and provide structured feedback to engineering teams to continuously improve design quality and execution standards;
Contribute to lessons learned, standardization and best practices across projects.
Profile
Technical degree in electricity, electromechanics or automation;
Strong experience in on-site execution of industrial automation, preferably in the intralogistics business;
Proven ability to lead and coach technical teams on-site;
Strong technical insight and the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings anddocumentation;
Hands-on, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset;
Strong sense of ownership, safety awareness and quality focus;
Good communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues, customers and external partners in a professional manner;
Comfortable working in dynamic project environments;
Team player;
Willing to travel and work on-site for the greatest part of the team, in Belgium or abroad;
Fluent in Dutch or French with a good knowledge of English;
