What to Know If You're New to Private Duty Nursing
- LPNs/LVNs working in hospitals, long-term care, and schools have directly transferable skills and are well-equipped to handle one client in the home
- Private duty = full shifts (8's, 10's, or 12's)
- Private duty = one client for the whole shift
- Private duty nursing is not 'visits'; nurses commute to only one client home per shift
- Private duty skilled nurses at BAYADA choose their own flexible schedule based on client needs
- Private duty nurses work with local clients nearby with short commutes
- Private duty skilled nursing varies in acuity according to nurse skill and training interests: g-tube, trach, vent.
Qualifications for A Private Duty LPN:
- Graduation from an accredited and approved nursing program, as indicated by school transcript or diploma
- A current nursing license in good standing in the state
Compensation & Schedule:
- Pay range:$38-$42 hourly based on experience and skills
- Flexible scheduling with no minimums (Full-Time or Part-Time)
