Pay Range:
$15.00-$21.00The Banquet Houseman is responsible for the physical setup, breakdown, and maintenance of event spaces. They transport heavy equipment like tables and chairs, set up rooms, and ensure the cleanliness of function rooms, storage areas, and the back-of-house to keep catering events running smoothly.
Core Responsibilities
Event Set-Up & Tear-Down: Read Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and arrange rooms accordingly, including moving different table sizes, chairs, staging, and dance floors.
Equipment Management: Transport, set up, and safely store equipment, podiums, and other banquet assets.
Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain the organization of the back-of-house, hallways, and storage closets. Clean floors, refresh rooms during breaks, and empty trash as needed.
Linen & Supply Handling: Restock service stations with clean linens, glassware, and serviceware, and remove dirty linens to laundry areas.
Team Assistance: Collaborate with the banquet team, including banquet servers, captains, and kitchen staff to handle client requests promptly. Assist with refilling meeting stations and water dispensers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and stand or walk for long shifts.
Flexibility: Availability to work varying schedules, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may start as early as 5am and as late as 1am.
Attention to Detail: Precision in aligning tables, arranging chairs, and maintaining venue appearance standards.
Communication: Ability to follow instructions clearly and coordinate with a large team in a fast-paced environment.
