Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Senior Planning Technician, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £21.14 - £27.87 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Technician (Complaints, FOI & Finance) to provide specialist technical, administrative, and financial support across the Planning Service. This role has a primary focus on managing planning complaints, coordinating Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) requests, supporting financial administration, and maintaining high-quality customer service standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate planning complaints, FOI/EIR requests, and finance administration, ensuring deadlines and service standards are met.
- Monitor performance, maintain accurate records, and produce reports to support service improvement.
- Provide technical and administrative support across the Planning Service, including customer enquiries and planning systems.
- Support financial processes, including purchase orders, invoices, income monitoring, and reconciliations.
- Coach Planning Technicians and contribute to continuous improvement, customer service, and compliance.
Essentials:
- Good understanding of Planning legislation, policies, and planning processes.
- Experience working within Planning Administration, Planning Support, or a Local Authority Planning Service.
- Experience managing customer complaints and complex enquiries.
- Experience handling FOI, EIR, GDPR, or information governance requests.
- Experience supporting financial administration, including purchase orders, invoices, reconciliations, and income monitoring.
- Experience producing management reports and performance information.
