Job Specifications Position: Senior Production Metallurgist Manager Location: Iran Reports to: CEO and dotted line to the Mine GM Webpage: https://www.jdvpartners.com The Senior Production Metallurgist Manager will be responsible for leading metallurgical performance across the copper processing plants, ensuring high recovery, optimal concentrate quality, and consistent operational efficiency. As the company accelerates production targets, this position plays a mission-critical role in daily metallurgical control, plant optimization, and production planning. Main Responsibilities

 

• Oversee and manage all metallurgical operations related to copper production, including flotation, regrinding, thickening, and concentrate handling.

• Optimize metallurgical recoveries and concentrate grades through consistent sampling, data analysis, and real-time process adjustments.

• Work closely with Process Engineers and Plant Operators to implement metallurgical strategies and production planning.

• Ensure compliance with all metallurgical accounting and reporting standards.

• Monitor metallurgical KPIs and initiate root cause analysis when performance deviates from targets.

• Guide test work, trials, and plant improvement projects in collaboration with the lab and technical teams.

• Maintain close communication with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment and process reliability.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the metallurgical team; build local capacity and foster continuous learning.

• Coordinate with upstream and downstream stakeholders, including geology, mining, smelting, and logistics functions.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in copper or base metal processing plants, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.

• Deep understanding of copper flotation circuits, concentrator plant operations, and process troubleshooting.

• Have sufficient background in flotation chemicals to achieve the highest recoveries throughout the flotation process for each specific ore.

• Demonstrated success in optimizing recovery, grade, and cost-efficiency in high-tonnage plants.

• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments.

• Experience working in growth-oriented environments and familiarity with scale-up processes.

• English fluency is required; other languages (Turkish, Farsi, Arabic) are a plus but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of metallurgical software tools and laboratory practices is desirable.
