Refuse/ Recycling Driver

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Refuse/ Recycling Driver, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £34.00 - £42.07 per hour

Summary:

We're looking for a Refuse/Recycling Driver to safely and efficiently operate collection vehicles while leading a refuse/recycling crew to deliver reliable waste collection services. The role involves supervising loaders, ensuring safe working practices, navigating collection routes, maintaining vehicles, and providing excellent customer service to residents and businesses.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate refuse/recycling collection vehicles, carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
• Supervise and direct the refuse/recycling crew, ensuring safe and efficient collection operations.
• Assist with loading refuse and recycling, route navigation, and use of in-cab technology to manage collections.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, disposal site requirements, and operational policies.
• Promote recycling, engage with the public professionally, and support service improvements and other collection crews when required.

Essentials:

• Valid Category C (LGV) driving licence.
• Experience driving large goods vehicles and operating plant or power mechanisms.
• Ability to supervise and lead a small team.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures within waste collection operations.
• Ability to identify and report vehicle defects.
• Experience using in-cab technology and route management systems.
