About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our Legal, Documentation & Internal Processes team at RHB Malaysian Trustees Berhad (MTB). In this role, you will support legal documentation, covenant monitoring, compliance, and operational activities related to trustee services. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including issuers, bondholders, solicitors, and regulators, to ensure effective execution of mandates and compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support operational, legal documentation, compliance, and business development activities across proposition squads

  • Monitor covenant compliance for bonds and sukuk, including breach identification and regulatory reporting

  • Liaise with issuers, bondholders, solicitors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of trustee mandates

  • Review and vet transaction documents to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements

  • Conduct AML reviews, including CDD, EDD, and PEP screening where required

  • Attend client, issuer, bondholder, and internal governance meetings, providing support and follow-up on action items

  • Coordinate recovery and enforcement actions against defaulting issuers alongside solicitors and bondholders

  • Monitor designated accounts and ensure compliance with financial and covenant obligations

  • Manage operational documentation, invoicing, and reporting within stipulated timelines

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1-3 years of working experience in investment banking, trustee services, legal practice, auditing, or related fields

  • Strong understanding of capital market regulations, compliance requirements, and legal documentation

  • Good planning, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Passion for and interest in the Malaysian capital market

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proactive, driven, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
