Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate yard dog to move trailers and flatbeds within the yard.
- Communicate with team to ensure timely trailer movements.
- Inspect trailers for safety and readiness before moving or loading.
- Assist with loading and unloading precast concrete pieces using appropriate equipment, including rigging tools.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and yard inventory.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies.
- Support general yard housekeeping and organization.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including consistently wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding work progress and any issues.
- Understand that all injuries, even if minor, shall be reported to management/supervisor on shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.
- You must adhere to FINFROCK safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- This is a full-time position that may vary outside the normal work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Depending on the area you work in, the shift may require working in the early morning or at night and sometimes overtime, or weekend shifts to meet production needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a yard dog or similar equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with precast concrete products and handling procedures is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, or other heavy equipment.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to work as part of a team.
