Job Title: Lead Piping Engineer
KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi.
Job Purpose
Lead and manage all piping engineering activities for ADNOC Offshore projects during FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, Brownfield modifications, and offshore facility upgrades. Ensure piping systems are designed, engineered, and delivered in compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, project specifications, safety requirements, quality standards, and schedule commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the piping engineering team for offshore oil & gas projects.
- Review and approve piping design philosophies, layouts, routing studies, and engineering deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore Engineering Standards, International Codes, and project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to piping engineers and designers.
- Resolve complex technical issues related to piping systems and interfaces.
Engineering & Design
- Review and approve:
- Plot Plans
- Equipment Layouts
- Piping General Arrangement Drawings
- Piping Material Specifications
- Pipe Support Designs
- Stress Analysis Reports

- MTOs (Material Take-Offs)
- Ensure proper integration of piping systems with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrument disciplines.
- Coordinate offshore and onshore piping design activities.
- Ensure constructability, maintainability, operability, and safety considerations are incorporated into designs.
Project Management
- Plan and monitor piping engineering activities in line with project schedules.
- Review manpower requirements and resource allocation.
- Participate in project progress reviews and management meetings.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are issued as per project milestones.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
Safety & Compliance

- Attend technical meetings with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Construction Support
- Provide engineering support during construction, offshore hookup, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Resolve site engineering queries and NCRs.
- Participate in field surveys and site visits as necessary.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 15–20 years of piping engineering experience in Oil & Gas projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a Lead Piping Engineer role.
- Extensive experience in ADNOC Offshore, UAE Offshore, or major Middle East Offshore projects.
- EPC and Detailed Engineering experience is mandatory.
- Experience in Brownfield and Greenfield offshore facilities preferred.
