About the Role
MUFG Bank is a leading provider of financing solutions to top-tier institutional real estate clients across Asia Pacific, including listed real estate corporates, private equity sponsors, REITs, developers, and fund managers. As the Real Estate platform continues to expand across the region, we are seeking an experienced real estate finance professional based in Singapore to support the execution and management of complex structured financing transactions across Asia Pacific.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Real Estate, APAC, and other dedicated Real Estate members, to lead the execution process of non-recourse / structured financings for the Bank. The transactions are large (>A$100m), complex and involve various Product teams within the Bank. The role involves initial due diligence, financial modelling, preparation of credit papers, engagement with Credit, documentation and satisfaction of conditions precedent for complex transactions.
Job Responsibilities
Review, Formulate and Prepare following work tasks: Marketing/Pitch proposals, Credit proposals, Customer deliverables. These would include analysis of project information, project contracts, financing structures, credit/bankability assessment
To prepare various reports, as required, for APAC Management
Work with senior stakeholders and other MUFG teams by providing analysis and suggestions towards MUFG’s strategic goals in Real Estate and associated businesses
Contribute to AIBD Real Estate achieving financial / budgetary objectives each year
Implement deal execution processes to achieve financial close
Coordinate and liaise with other product partners and the credit department to enable timely delivery
Work with MUFG clients across Oceania and regionally
Responsible for the quality of deal deliverables externally (including presentations / proposals, deal specific deliverables to customers
Work closely with the origination team to ensure seamless delivery
Proactively engage with others in the AIBD Real Estate team and other MUFG teams, exhibiting strong teamwork in line with One MUFG principles. Work with MUFG’s various product departments across Oceania and regionally
To provide guidance to junior team members with respect to work tasks and supervise the assigned work tasks / deliverables from junior AIBD members across region
To assist Head of Real Estate, APAC and senior members of the team, as and when necessary
Job Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of experience within corporate banking, investment banking, real estate finance, project finance, advisory, accounting, or consulting environments.
At least 4 years of direct experience in real estate financing
Bachelor's degree qualified
Demonstrated end-to-end experience managing complex real estate financing transactions through financial close.
Proven experience in debt structuring, project management, credit analysis and documentation skill to lead lending and advisory transactions
Experience working across multiple jurisdictions within Asia Pacific
Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to identify business and cross-selling opportunities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work effectively across product, risk, legal, and client teams.
Prior people management experience is advantageous but not essential. Candidates with experience providing informal leadership and guidance to junior colleagues will also be considered.
