The role

As the Business Process Owner (BPO) – Consolidation and Financial Reporting, you will own the end-to-end global process design, governance, and continuous improvement of financial consolidation and external/internal reporting within the GBS and wider Finance organization.

You will ensure that consolidation and reporting processes are scalable, compliant, and enabled by best-in-class systems and data structures. Acting as the key link between Finance (e.g. Group Controller’s team), GBS operations, and IT/Digital teams, you will define the global blueprint and drive process excellence, automation, and data integrity across regions.

What you'll be responsible for

1. Global process ownership – Consolidation & Financial Reporting

You are accountable for the global design and governance of consolidation and financial reporting processes. This includes defining / updating process flows, and data structures used for Consolidation and Financial Reporting to ensure consistency across all regions and entities.

2. Process standardization and harmonization

You drive and maintain the standardization of consolidation (e.g. intercompany eliminations, group adjustments, FX translation) and financial reporting practices, ensuring alignment with group accounting policies and avoiding & removing regional deviations.

3. Consolidation and reporting systems ownership

You act as the functional owner of consolidation and reporting tools (including Tagetik and supporting tools). You define system requirements, prioritize enhancements, and ensure optimal use of technology to support accurate and timely reporting.

4. Governance, risk, and compliance

You ensure that consolidation and reporting processes comply with IFRS (Group accounting policy) requirements and internal control frameworks. You define in collaboration with Group Financial Controls team and maintain process-level controls, support audit readiness, and ensure transparency and traceability of reported figures.

5. Data model and master data governance

You own the financial data structures within the consolidation system and used for the consolidation processes (e.g. entity hierarchy, reporting dimensions). You ensure data consistency, quality, and alignment across systems and processes.

6. Period-end process design and optimization

You define and continuously improve the global consolidation calendar, ensuring efficient sequencing of activities and clear accountability across stakeholders. You focus on reducing cycle time while maintaining accuracy and control.

7. Continuous improvement and automation

You proactively identify process inefficiencies and drive automation initiatives (e.g. automated eliminations, reconciliation tools, workflow optimization). You partner with Digital/IT teams to implement scalable solutions and reduce manual intervention.

8. Stakeholder management and functional leadership

You collaborate closely with Group Controller’s team, Regional Finance teams, GBS operations, Tax, Treasury, and IT. You act as the central point of expertise for consolidation and reporting processes, providing guidance and resolving complex issues.

9. KPI framework and performance monitoring

You define and track global KPIs (e.g. close cycle time, consolidation adjustments, data quality metrics, audit findings). You use insights to drive continuous improvement and ensure process performance meets organizational targets.

10. Change and transformation leadership

You lead global transformation initiatives related to consolidation and reporting, including system implementations, process redesign, and the relevant part of any migration project into GBS. You ensure effective change management, communication, and adoption across regions

We're looking for someone who

Rather than an exhaustive check list, focus on what really matters.

Vision and Expertise:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.

8–12+ years of experience in financial consolidation, group reporting, or R2R processes in a multinational environment.

Deep understanding of consolidation principles, intercompany processes, and group financial reporting.

Strategic Insight:

Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and external reporting requirements.

Experience with consolidation systems (e.g. SAP Group Reporting, Tagetik, Hyperion, or similar).

Proven track record in process design, standardization, and finance transformation initiatives.

Collaborative Leadership:

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across global and cross-functional teams.

Ability to translate business requirements into system and process solutions.

Experience in leading change, driving adoption, and working in a matrix organization.
