Our Consulting Delivery Hub (CDH) in India is a critical part of ERM’s global consulting model enabling scalable, high-quality delivery across regions and service lines. CDH teams work in close partnership with regional consultants to support global client projects, providing specialist expertise, driving consistency, and enhancing delivery efficiency across our most important programmes.

As part of the Consulting Delivery Hub, you will collaborate with colleagues worldwide, contribute to complex sustainability projects, and play a key role in shaping the future of global consulting delivery.

Why this role matters?

As a Geologist Consultant, you will support ERM's global Contaminated Site Management and Hydrogeology teams by delivering high-quality site investigation, groundwater assessment, remediation, and environmental consulting services. Working closely with ERM consultants, project managers, technical specialists, and client stakeholders across multiple regions, you will contribute to the successful delivery of complex environmental projects. This role plays a critical part in providing technically robust assessments, supporting sustainable remediation strategies, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and enabling efficient global project delivery across ERM's environmental consulting portfolio.
 

What your impact is?

  • Deliver high-quality geological, hydrogeological, and contaminated land assessment outputs that support informed client decision-making and project success.

  • Prepare accurate technical reports, data analyses, borehole logs, and environmental assessments that meet ERM and client quality standards.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of site investigations, groundwater monitoring, and remediation programs while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.

  • Apply technical expertise and QA/QC principles to ensure the integrity, consistency, and reliability of project deliverables.

  • Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, proposal development, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance delivery processes, technical methodologies, and project efficiency.

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in hydrogeology, geology or a related discipline with a strong ground/groundwater contamination assessment and remediation focus.

  • Experience in hydrogeology, and especially groundwater and contaminant transport modelling, would be an advantage, coupled with a strong desire to expand this area of expertise.

  • 4 years + consulting experience.

  • Knowledge/experience of remediation systems and techniques.

  • Knowledge/experience of project management.

  • Knowledge/experience of legislation, guidance and procedures with respect to the management of contaminated land.

  • Ability to independently summarize data for investigation reports.

  • Computer literacy, including proficient MS Office skills.

  • Strong initiative (self-starter), problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail and QA/QC.

Preferred skills & competencies

  • Previous experience supporting site investigations, environmental assessments, contaminated land management, or remediation projects within an environmental or engineering consultancy.

  • Experience supervising fieldwork activities including drilling, groundwater monitoring, soil sampling, and subcontractor management.

  • Working knowledge of groundwater contamination assessment, remediation technologies, and environmental risk assessment methodologies.

  • Experience with groundwater or contaminant transport modelling and a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform assigned office duties, such as report writing, data entry, borehole logs, statistical analysis, data modelling, graphical presentation of data and field program cost estimating.

  • Ensure safety of team members during project operations.

  • Assist in the management of projects.

  • Produce environmental desk study, site investigation and verification reports.

  • Assist in fee proposal preparation for future work.

  • Coordinate and communicate with client representatives, subcontractors, and ERM employees.
