Consultant Cardiologist – Electrophysiology (EP) - Abu Dhabi

Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Cardiologist – Electrophysiology to join our Cardiology Department in Abu Dhabi.The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias and will perform advanced electrophysiology procedures, including catheter ablation and cardiac device implantation, in accordance with clinical privileges and Department of Health (DoH) requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide specialist consultation and comprehensive management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.Perform advanced electrophysiology procedures, including:Electrophysiology studies (EPS)Radiofrequency and/or cryoablationSupraventricular tachycardia (SVT) ablationAtrial fibrillation (AF) ablationAtrial flutter ablationVentricular tachycardia (VT) ablationPerform and manage cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), as applicable:Pacemaker implantationICD implantationCRT-P/CRT-DDevice follow-up and programmingEvaluate and manage complex arrhythmia patients.Participate in multidisciplinary cardiology and electrophysiology meetings.Provide inpatient consultation and outpatient EP clinics.Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, heart failure specialists and other multidisciplinary teams.Participate in emergency arrhythmia management and on-call services as required.Contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement, patient safety and service development.Participate in teaching and supervision of residents, fellows and junior physicians.Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and UAE healthcare regulations.Qualifications & LicensingMedical degree from a recognized medical school.Completed accredited Internal Medicine and Cardiology training.Completed fellowship/subspecialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology.Recognized Board Certification/Specialist qualification in Cardiology and Electrophysiology.Valid Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi Consultant license/eligibility as a Cardiologist with Electrophysiology privileges.Current professional registration and good standing.Required ExperienceProven post-fellowship experience as a Consultant/Specialist Electrophysiologist.Independent experience in complex EP procedures and catheter ablation.Strong experience in atrial fibrillation and supraventricular arrhythmia management.Experience with ventricular arrhythmias and device therapy is highly desirable.Ability to independently perform procedures within approved clinical privileges.Preferred SkillsAdvanced experience in complex AF ablation.Experience with 3D electroanatomical mapping systems.Experience in VT ablation.Experience with lead extraction and complex device procedures is an advantage.Academic, teaching, research or quality-improvement experience is desirable.Core CompetenciesExcellent clinical and procedural expertise in electrophysiology.Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.Ability to manage complex and high-risk arrhythmia patients.Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration.Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.Strong leadership and teaching capabilities.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a DoH Abu Dhabi–licensed Consultant Electrophysiologist with recognized EP fellowship training and substantial independent experience in complex cardiac electrophysiology, catheter ablation and arrhythmia management.
