## The impact you’ll make
At Lam, as an Accountant, you're central to managing and enhancing our accounting systems. With a keen eye for detail, you interpret financial reporting requirements, balance the books, and ensure accuracy of profit and loss, cash flow, income, and balance sheet statements. Your expertise extends to monthly report generation, supporting informed decision making. You contribute to Lam's financial accuracy and compliance.
## What you’ll do
### VAT and Statutory Tax Compliance
- Prepare, review, and support bi-monthly VAT filings, including output tax and input tax validation, 401 filing support, and reconciliation of VAT-related accounts.
- Review supporting invoices and tax documents to ensure compliance with Taiwan VAT requirements and internal documentation standards.
- Investigate VAT variances, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams or external advisors on corrective actions.
- Support VAT amendment filings, tax authority inquiries, refund applications, and related documentation preparation when required.
- Maintain complete and audit-ready working papers for VAT filings and related statutory submissions.
### Withholding Tax and Income Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly withholding tax declarations and related tax payment documentation.
- Compile and reconcile income categories such as salaries, bonuses, service fees, other income, interest income, and interest expense for withholding tax purposes.
- Coordinate with payroll, HR, and external advisors to ensure withholding tax data is accurate and complete.
- Support annual income reporting, and related statutory filing requirements.
- Monitor filing deadlines and ensure withholding tax submissions and payments are completed accurately and on time.
### Accounts Payable and Payment Support
- Review and process accounts payable transactions, including invoice validation, coding, posting, and payment support in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
- Ensure supplier invoices and payment requests are properly supported, approved, and compliant with statutory and internal requirements.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, GR/IR issues, vendor inquiries, and payment-related exceptions.
- Coordinate with vendors, procurement, business requestors, and shared service teams to support timely and accurate payment execution.
- Prepare payment requests and accounting entries for assigned expenses, professional service fees, and other disbursements.
### General Ledger and Period-End Close
- Prepare and post journal entries for assigned general ledger activities, including accruals, reclassifications, clearing entries, and recurring close adjustments.
- Perform account reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules for assigned balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure financial results are recorded accurately and delivered on schedule.
- Analyze account movements, investigate unusual variances, and provide clear explanations and supporting documentation.
- Maintain complete working papers and documentation to support internal review, external audit, tax audit, and SOX control requirements.
### Compliance, Controls, and Process Improvement
- Ensure accounting activities comply with company policies, Taiwan tax regulations, internal control requirements, and applicable accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Identify process gaps, control risks, and efficiency improvement opportunities in tax, AP, and GL processes.
- Participate in system enhancement, automation, workflow standardization, and user acceptance testing when required.
- Partner effectively with Finance, HR, SCM, outsourcing service teams, auditors, and external advisors to drive accurate and timely outcomes.
## Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax compliance, accounts payable, general ledger, or finance operations.
- Solid knowledge of Taiwan VAT, withholding tax, statutory filing requirements, and general accounting practices.
- Experience with period-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedule preparation.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems; familiarity with Blackline, workflow tools, or shared service operating models is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to manage detailed schedules, reconciliations, and large data sets.
- Good understanding of internal controls, audit requirements, and standard accounting documentation practices.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, time management, and ability to meet recurring deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Working knowledge of AI and automation, with the ability to translate business needs into practical accounting use cases.
## Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in an accounting firm, Big Four firm, or tax advisory function is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with AP process improvement, tax filing standardization, ERP implementation, or finance automation initiatives.
- Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, and Taiwan statutory accounting requirements.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement mindset with willingness to challenge existing processes and improve operational efficiency.
