Reporting to the Program Manager, the Combat Systems Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert to the CVN ROC, supporting CNAL Code N47 by providing technical analysis, CASREP response, and readiness recommendations for C5ISR combat systems maintenance, modernization, and repair aboard Nimitz and Gerald R. Ford class aircraft carriers.

 

This is a contingent position expected to be located in Norfolk, VA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.

What You'll Do

  • Provide CASREP response and status tracking for C5ISR equipment, coordinating with ISEAs, warfare centers, and Ship's Force to track material and parts status.
  • Analyze C5ISR ICAVs, review findings, and provide disposition recommendations to TYCOM, the Combat Systems Officer (CSO), and Ship's Force.
  • Review the ship's CSMP and planned C5ISR maintenance, modernization, and repairs for CNO availabilities, and estimate man-hours required to correct deficiencies with the CSMO/Ship's Maintenance Officer.
  • Attend meetings and conferences to present technical analysis and data-driven recommendations on combat systems readiness; identify and help mitigate critical constraints.
  • Recommend policy and procedural changes related to combat systems readiness, new construction outfitting, and new shipboard support programs.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly C5ISR status reports and support development of ROC readiness metrics.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • HS Diploma required.
  •  Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience with distance support and onboard C5ISR repair issues, including coordination with ISEAs and warfare centers.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working knowledge of C5ISR maintenance, modernization, and repairs on CVNs, including combat systems databases and maintenance reports.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience and working knowledge of combat systems policies, procedures, practices, and instructions.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ fluent experience with Microsoft Office products.Ability to clearly articulate technical findings and recommendations, in writing and verbally, to TYCOM and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience estimating man-hours and coordinating deficiency corrections with a Ship's Combat Systems Maintenance Officer (CSMO).
  • Comfortable presenting technical analysis and status updates in meetings with senior program and Navy personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent CVN readiness analyses.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed, cross-functional SME team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.
