Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus High School is seeking a Student Production Center Assistant. Are you passionate about supporting creative endeavors and empowering student talent? As an integral part of our vibrant campus community, you'll collaborate with students and staff to facilitate the production of diverse multimedia projects. From assisting with equipment setups to providing technical support, your role will be to assist with fostering a collaborative and innovative environment where student creativity can thrive. The ideal candidate would be someone with familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and knowledge of laminating and printing, but we would also be open to training an enthusiastic candidate.
This is a regular, full-time position with benefits.
Job Summary
Provides appropriate educational and visual production support to students in developing classroom projects. Duties include but are not limited to working with teachers and students, instructing Student Production Center users in the proper and effective use of materials and equipment available.
Essential Responsibilities
- Instruct Student Production Center users on the proper and effective use of media and visual productions tools and other equipment to meet project needs.
- Prepares materials for Student Production Center teacher & student use.
- Maintains Student Production Center equipment, tools, and monitors inventory of supplies.
- Monitors student aides
- Process purchase orders using the organization's procurement system.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.
- Vocational or specialized training in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience.
- Ability to work well with students on individual and small group projects.
- High degree of creativity and visual communication skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Adobe Software Suite.
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn to operate the variety of media equipment used in the work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to keep abreast of rapidly changing digital media software and hardware.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently sit, perform desk based computer tasks and grasp light/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
- Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach/work about shoulder, grasp forcefully.
Working Conditions
- This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
- Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
- Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours may be required to meet goals and objectives.
