At Hempel, we trust you to shine. If you have the drive to contribute and embrace new challenges, you’ll enjoy great opportunities with us.

We’re looking for a Product Manager, Service Solutions – Hull Performance to strengthen and grow Hempel’s global service portfolio within Marine. In this role, you will turn customer needs, market opportunities, and regulatory developments into scalable service solutions that improve vessel efficiency, hull performance, biofouling management, and operational sustainability.

You will be part of our Service Development team, working closely with colleagues across Hempel to shape the future of our Marine service offering.

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Own and in some cases develop the Marine service portfolio for hull performance, including value propositions, service content, pricing, and performance targets
  • Translate customer needs, market trends, and regulatory developments into new service opportunities, creating a clear roadmap for service development
  • Lead cross-functional development and implementation of new services, working closely with R&D, Digital Service Operations, Sales, Marketing, and external partners
  • Create customer value through improved vessel performance, identifying challenges related to biofouling, hull condition, vessel efficiency, and operational sustainability
  • Manage the service portfolio throughout its lifecycle, continuously evaluating and improving services to ensure they remain relevant, competitive, commercially viable, and scalable

Do you have the expertise to create customer value?

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Chemistry, or a related field
  • Experience in product management, service development, or commercial roles, ideally within Marine or another heavy industry with similar challenges
  • Strong understanding of anti-fouling, hull performance, vessel efficiency, or biofouling management
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills, with the ability to turn customer and market insights into action
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills
  • A customer-focused and commercially minded approach, with a passion for developing solutions that create measurable value and support sustainability

Driving the future of Hempel Services

Our Service Development team is part of Hempel Services and is responsible for developing services that complement Hempel’s coating solutions. We work across Marine and Energy & Infrastructure to understand customer challenges, identify new opportunities, and develop services that create additional customer value and support business growth.

You will join a team of 7 passionate and experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to shape a growing global service portfolio in a collaborative and international environment.
