The Opportunity
The Buyer is a developing professional who procures goods and services at the optimal cost, quality, and delivery. This role builds upon foundational knowledge to manage purchase orders, negotiate with suppliers on tactical buys, and resolve supply issues. Working with general supervision, the Buyer is responsible for ensuring a reliable flow of materials to support business operations.
What You Will Do
Contributes to cost-effective procurement by issuing requests for quotation (RFQs), analyzing supplier bids, and placing purchase orders.
Delivers an effective supply plan by managing POs, monitoring supplier performance, and taking action to mitigate supply risks.
Enhances team success by working collaboratively with planners, engineers, and other departments to ensure material availability.
Analyzes problems of limited scope, such as price variances or delivery delays, and recommends effective solutions.
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
2+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry.
Proven track record of successful negotiation, cost reduction, and supplier management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed procurement decisions.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of building strong relationships internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and e-procurement tools.
Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
